The tourists stranded in Algarve due to flights disruptions have now a desk especially created in Faro Airport to address its problems, organized by local authorities (ANA - Portuguese airports operator; Civil Governor’s Office and ERTA - Algarve's regional tourism board).
The desk aims to provide help regarding food, medical assistance and temporary lodging, among other problems, says the official release from the Civil Governor’s Office.
People in need of medical prescriptions must go to the administration building in Faro Hospital, from Monday to Friday between 9.00 and 18.00, or to the Hospital Pharmacy in Portimão Hospital, on floor O, from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 17.00. Out of this schedule, call +351 961560906.
In case of economical difficulties to pay for the treatments, the retained passengers should ask for support in their consulates, or explain the the situation at the special information desk in Faro Airport for “a proper following”, said Isilda Gomes, Faro’s Civil Governor.
